The Cachagua Fire Department of Monterey County, is designated as Company 77 and covers a 110 square mile district in Carmel Valley, California. Company 77 (CFC) consists of  between 25 and 30 active volunteers who provide fire suppression and emergency medical services for the Cachagua/Tassajara community. The volunteers meet Tuesday nights and one Saturday each month, at one of the three firehouses in the district. Meetings usually consist of a training phase, followed by discussion. Usually the discussions are about how the team can improve and how it can continue to be one of the best fire departments in California. The Cachagua Fire Volunteers provide their community with a service that is not easily found in today's world.

Someone asked, "What if volunteers didn't?"
