Basin Complex Fire Update This update was prepared at 22:00 hours 7/23/2008. INFO HOTLINE: (805) 961-5770 fire map http://www.geomac.gov fire map info http://www.co.monterey.ca.us info Back-burning operations continue this week. A charged hose line totaling 27,000 ft. is now in place along the dozer line. The final stages of the back burn now commence along the dozer line from the Laurel Springs area to the LP dam. If all goes well, we should be wrapping things up soon. Let's pray that the burn goes well and that our community can return to normal, but maybe with a little less gossip.... Entry into our community is still limited to emergency vehicles, residents, employees, and deliveries. The situation is still dynamic, so be ready for anything. Residents et. al. can get a pass at the Sleepy Hollow road closure, at any of the public meetings, and at the Carmel River Ranger Station on Nason Rd. Passes can also be obtained through the Monterey County Sheriffs Office at (831) 647-7702.
